Preservation Manual

Need to improve your preservation practice?  Get some help with a book by BioCoR director Allison Hubel.  Preservation of cells: a practical manual is a helpful guide for preserving cells and troubleshooting when things go wrong.  The manual covers pre-freeze processing, cryopreservation solutions formulation, characterization, freezing protocols, storage and shipping, thawing, post-thaw assessment, and protocol optimization.

Also, BioCoR offers a short course on the preservation of cellular therapeutics that covers these topics and is held annually in May.  See the course overview for more information.  The book goes into more detail on the concepts covered in the short course and includes sample protocols for preservation of a wide variety of cell types.
